our roots
Our story began in 1936; Brighton taxi drivers decided to form their own company. Hove followed, and in 2009 the two co-operatives merged to form the largest taxi company in the city.
Today we’re still driver-owned, run by people who know every hill, alleyway, late-night kebab shop and venue in the city!
Our People & Fleet
Our drivers come from all over the world, and they’ve made Brighton & Hove their home. To get behind the wheel on our fleet, they must first pass the city’s famously tough licensing, knowledge and safeguarding tests. So, whether you’re heading to a late-night set, grabbing an early train, or moving through Brighton's buzzing streets at any hour of the day or night, you’re in safe hands with Streamline.
Inclusion is more than a buzzword for us. We’ve developed our own in-house course, training drivers to provide safe, respectful transport for people with all kinds of disabilities, both visible and non-visible.

Our commitment to Brighton & Hove goes beyond transport. Over the years, our drivers and staff have raised thousands of pounds for local charities - especially the local hospice, The Martlets.
When the COVID-19 pandemic hit, we launched ‘Cabs for Jabs’, helping raise funds to provide free travel to vaccination centres for those who needed it most.
We’re proud to be part of this city. Our ethos is simple: everyone is welcome, and everyone is equal. That’s why we also prioritise local suppliers wherever possible- supporting the community and reducing our environmental impact.
