WHAT MAKES US UNIQUE?
Streamline Taxis is the trading name of Brighton and Hove Streamline Limited. We’re unique among taxi companies in the city because every vehicle we provide is licensed by Brighton & Hove City Council- and our drivers own the company.
Why does this matter? Because Brighton & Hove City Council sets exceptionally high licensing standards, covering:

In 1936, taxi drivers in Brighton came together to form an association and run their own company. A few years later, drivers in neighbouring Hove did the same.
Even after Brighton & Hove merged into a single authority in 1997, the two associations maintained a friendly rivalry- until 2009, when they joined forces to create the largest taxi company in the city.
Our People & Fleet
Our drivers come from all over the world, but they’ve made Brighton & Hove their home- and passed the rigorous training required to hold a taxi license.
We’ve also developed our own in-house course, training drivers to provide safe, respectful transport for people with all kinds of disabilities, both visible and non-visible.

Over the years, our kind-hearted drivers and staff have raised thousands of pounds for local charities- especially the local hospice, The Martlets.
During the Covid-19 pandemic, we launched the ‘Cabs for Jabs’ initiative, helping raise funds to provide free transport to vaccination centres for those most in need.
With deep roots in the city, we’re committed to a simple ethos: everyone is welcome, and everyone is equal. Wherever possible, we use local suppliers, both for sustainability and to support local traders.
