Forthcoming Carriageway Resurfacing Works - Dyke Road - Monday 13th and Tuesday 14th August
I write to inform you that work to resurface failed areas of the carriageway in Dyke Road, between the junctions with Bath Street and West Hill Road, will be undertaken on Monday 13th and Tuesday 14th August. A location plan of the working area is attached for your information.
To minimise disruption to local traffic and the bus service these specific works will be undertaken ‘off-peak’ between the hours of 9.30am and 4pm on each day. The following temporary traffic management measures will be in operation:
- Dyke Road will be closed to all traffic between the junctions with Bath Street and West Hill Road ( ie. traffic will not be able to access Dyke Road via Bath Street, Clifton Road, Compton Avenue or West Hill Road ).
- Local diversion routes for traffic will be in operation.
- Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times.
- Vehicles will not be permitted to park within the working area. Any vehicles left parked here will be removed from the site.
Any local bus stops within the immediate vicinity of the works will be suspended. For further information regarding local bus services please call Brighton and Hove Bus Control on 01273 886200.
Although these essential works will cause some inconvenience, I assure you that everything possible will be done to minimise the effect. I’m afraid the very nature of these works will generate some noise, however, the contractor will aim to keep this to as minimum level as possible. Please contact me should you require any additional information or have any queries regarding the works.
