Our computerised system has the details of all of our drivers (and vehicles). This includes the  hackney-carriage or private-hire licence details and also the DVLA drivers licence.

When the hackney-carriage / private-hire licence is due for renewal a message will appear on the vehicle data-unit as soon as the PIN is entered. This will give a two week reminder of the expiry of the licence. If for any reason the driver does not provide a copy of the new licence by the expiry date that driver is barred from logging onto the data-system.

If you have any cause for complaint about a driver we will regard it with high priority to resolve matters. We do prefer to have such complaints in writing where at all possible. And, depending on the nature of the complaint we will try to resolve matters within house. Where necessary we will refer the matter to the Brighton & Hove City Council Hackney Carriage Office.

At Streamline Taxis 202020-747474 we only use drivers licensed by the City of Brighton & Hove. We do not use drivers who are not licensed to work within the Brighton & Hove City Council licensing area such as Adur. Unfortunately this is not the standard policy elsewhere within our city where another company uses vehicles and drivers from Adur that have not attained the specific requirements of Brighton & Hove City Council.

All Brighton & Hove licensed hackney carriage and private-hire drivers have to attain a very strict knowledge test so if you are sent a vehicle and driver from another area, even though you have called a Brighton & Hove licensed company, your driver will not have undergone the strict knowledge test. Neither will their records, including CRB checks and insurance details will be held by Brighton & Hove Council. Our licensing authority have no jurisdiction over vehicles and drivers from other areas working within the city.

When a licensed driver joins our company a specific PIN is then appointed to that driver and this PIN is required to be entered into the vehicle data-unit prior to starting work.
