Awareness training course.

 
 
 

Brighton and Hove Streamline Taxis have developed a Catstream (UK) disability handling and awareness training course (DHAATC ©) for hackney private hire and car drivers.


The course has been accredited by brighton university and been issued with a "Req" mark, which stands for "Recognising Educational Quality".

It has also been adopted by Brighton and Hove city council for driver's of wheelchair accessible vehicles (wav's).

The course involves both a visual and practical demonstration and lasts for two and a half hours.

All drivers who successfully pass the course are then issued with a certificate, which is valid for three years and our handbook.

It has been prepared with advice and assistance from -

EAST SUSSEX ASSOCIATION OF THE BLIND AND PARTIALLY SIGHTED, GUIDEDOGS

HEARING DOGS (UK), BRIGHTON AND HOVE IMPETUS, THE MARTLETS HOSPICE,

SUSSEX POLICE, YMCA SAFE SPACE

and PAVILLIONS DRUG AND ALCOHOL SERVICE.
